Yesterday, here at Thistle Cove Farm we celebrated 445 collective years of wisdom when we celebrated birthdays: Daddy (90), Mom (84), Minnie (90), Helen (90) and Ruby (91). We also celebrated Mom and Daddy’s 67th wedding anniversary and Thistle Cove Farm was dedicated because God has a good plan for this farm and for His glory. The day was perfect, temps were in the mid-70’s F, just cloudy enough to keep the sun from being too hot, the food was delicious, the company grand, the prayers heartfelt. God blessed us with beauty, love, mercy, grace. One word describes the day: perfect!

Mercy, Dana! Isn’t patience a trial for all of us? lol I need to post about the celebration as it was a marvelous day.
Linda Sue says
what a wonderful day to celebrate – all those years of joys and tears – living their lives and sharing with one another. Hooray you were there to celebrate together! Love the comments on patience – an ongoing need of mine!
Sandra Bennett says
Yes Linda Sue, it was a marvelous day; someone later said, “Oh, I wish I could have been there”, as do I, but the day was perfect. The folks who were here were the folks who were meant to be here. God kissed the day and blessed us all.

Sandra, I have been quiet for awhile but I have been reading. This post and the last are so applicable for me and the things going on in my life now. Your post usually are, but some are right to the point !
I am glad you had such a wonderful celebration this weekend. My oldest son and one of my brothers had a Birthday in the past few days… and I celebrated the life of a friend who is 5 years with the Lord now. My son is far away in SC and my brother is in CT. I talked and texted with my son… who requested that I not send his Birthday package until the next week… he is too busy with work and study. My brother and I texted back and forth… I am not fond of that, but although he enjoys my cards he is not a “talker” … the only time we talked much was when he was bit by a dog as a child and when he had heart surgery… I was the one he had his wife call first. And we talked when he was able.
Please pray for my family, near and far. There are a few prodigals that need to find their way back to Jesus. Please also pray for my husband’ salvation and for his health. He has a serious case of Lymphadema… and could die in the next year or two if he doesn’t take it more seriously. Two doctors have told him this… and the only thing he has done is let me schedule an appointment for November with special therapists. But if he doesn’t get more exercise and if he doesn’t change his diet… well… only the Lord knows what lies ahead.
I am still planning to move to someplace less crowded than NJ… have a savings account started… and we have narrowed our search now. Please pray for our move as well. Plan to do a trip to check out a few areas in the spring… and then we plan to move as soon as God leads.
Many details to be worked out. Trusting God to lead and guide.
On your giveaway mentioned last post I believe…sounds like great fun ! I have one or two pieces of McCoy Pottery and Fire King… and some jadite. They are pieces I love to use, but use with care ! You are so generous !
Praying for you and all that you request prayers for,
Bonnie Jean

Hi Bonnie Jean, yes to prayers which work because we do it and God hears the prayers of a righteous people. Hopefully, you’ve settled in your new place and your husband is taking better care of himself. I prayed for Dave from 1989, when we met, to 2011. He made his peace with God on Monday morning at 10:00 and on Saturday morning, 10:00, he literally dropped dead of a heart attack. Never stop praying!

Dear Sandra,
I’m not sure where to start. First of all, congratulations on all the celebrations! Amazing what role models your folks are in the mixed up world.
Patience didn’t come to me this weekend. This post was so timely. I’m going to print out these quotes, ponder them, internalize them. Believe them!
May you have a time of rest ahead too….thank you for being a bright spot in my day!
Sandra Bennett says
Hi Anita, has this week gone better? Patience might be a virtue but it’s also h.a.r.d. Someone told me, “I’ve stopped praying for patience; the tests and trials God sends my way are too hard!” I laughed but it’s true…at this time in life I pray for God’s will because I haven’t the brain cells to know what’s good for me.

Rainey, it’s been a week of hard work…physically prepping farm, house, vehicles, animals, myself for winter. I’m glad for cooler weather, welcome it in fact. Be safe. Cast your cares on God for He cares for YOU. xoxo<><

Your dad is 90 and mom 84? WOW! Happy birthday to them!!!
Sandra Bennett says
Hi Timi! You and your family were on my mind, thus in my prayers, prior to your comment. I thought about my lovely visit in Hungary, meeting you three and wondered how you all are doing.
Yes to Mom and Daddy being older; they also celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary! Another WOW! (smile)
