“Should all the hosts of death and powers of hell unknown put their most dreadful forms of rage and malice on, I shall be safe, for Christ displays superior power and guardian grace.” ~ Isaac Watts ~
Our vision is so limited we can hardly imagine a love that does now show itself in protection from suffering… The love of God did not protect His own Son… He will not necessarily protect us – not from anything it takes to make us like His Son. A lot of hammering and chiseling and purifying by fire will have to go into the process.”
~ Elisabeth Elliott ~
“Jesus feels for thee; Jesus consoles thee: Jesus will help thee. No monarch in his impregnable fortress is more secure than the cony in his rocky burrow. The Master of ten thousand chariots is not one whit better protected than the little dweller in the mountain’s cleft. In Jesus the weak are strong, and the defenceless safe; they could not be more strong if they were giants, or more safe if they were in heaven. Faith gives to men on earth the protection of the God of heaven. More they cannot need, and need not wish. The conies cannot build a castle, but they avail themselves of what is there already: I cannot make myself a refuge, but Jesus has provided it, His Father has given it, His spirit has revealed it, and lo, again tonight I enter it, and am safe from every foe.”
~ Charles Haddon Spurgeon ~
“Safety does not depend upon our perception of the absence of danger. Safety is found in God’s presence, in the center of His perfect will.” ~ T. J. Bach ~
“I am going out on Thy path. God be behind me, God be before me, God be in my footsteps.” ~ Gaelic prayer ~

Wonderful post, Sandra. It is true- we certainly all need a strong tower in our lives, don't we? Love your photos, too. xo Diana

Hi Sandra! I hope you are having a peaceful Sunday.
That photo of pup and sheep is darling.

Oh Sandra — that first verse up there about running into the Lord as a tower, has been one of my very favorite verses for many years now. Thank you for showing it to me again. I treasure the image of myself fleeing into him, into his character, as a refuge from all comers. Bless you.

I knew you would glean some helpful insight for us this Sunday. Most are searching for answers and we all think about our safety in places that we never used to think about it. We cannot let fear paralyze us and yet we do have a responsibility to be on alert, aware.

Thank you for these today.

Sabbath blessings to you. Powerful post, especially in lieu of all that has happened this last week. Sending love your way!

Your photo of a dog and sheep reminds me of the scripture that goes something like…"when the lion lies down with the lamb…."
Happy Sunday!

What an appropriate post this is today. The world truly is "unsafe" and always will be. Seek our refuge in the Lord and one will have true "safety". Please everyone continue to pray for our Nation. As you know we are ruled by evil men (and women). God bless my friend. ~:)
