Sabbath Keeping

Sabbath Keeping· TCF

~ Sam, chasing Rooster Cogburn ~
“The one who follows instruction is on the path to life,
but the one who rejects correction goes astray.”
~ Proverbs 10:17 ~

“Discipline is training that develops and corrects.” ~ Charles Stanley ~
“Work is doing it.
Discipline is doing it every day.
Diligence is doing it well every day.”
~ Dave Ramsey ~
“Discipline is the means by which you can take control of your life.”
~ anonymous ~
“It was character that got us out of bed,
commitment that moved us into action,
and discipline that enabled us to follow through.”
~ Zig Ziglar ~
“He that cannot obey, cannot command.” ~ Benjamin Franklin ~
“Discipline is remembering what you want.” ~ David Campbell ~
“With self-discipline, most anything is possible.” ~ Theodore Roosevelt ~
“Many of life’s circumstances are created by three basic choices:
the disciplines you choose to keep,
the people you choose to be with;
and the laws you choose to obey.”
~ Charles Millhuff ~
“Without discipline, there’s no life at all.” ~ Katharine Hepburn ~
“He conquers twice who conquers himself in victory.” ~  Jyrus ~
“Unless you change how you are,
you will always have what you’ve got.”
~ Jim Rohn ~
“If you do not conquer self, you will be conquered by self.” ~ Napoleon Hill ~
“He who lives without discipline, dies without honor.” ~ Icelandic proverb ~
“It’s not the work that’s hard,
it’s the discipline.”
~ Anonymous ~
“It is one of the strange ironies of this strange life that those who work the hardest, who subject themselves to the strictest discipline, who give up certain pleasurable things in order to achieve a goal, are the happiest men. When you see 20 or 30 men line up for a distance race in some meet, don’t pity them, don’t feel sorry for them. Better envy them instead.” ~ Brutus Hamilton ~
“Lack of self-discipline leads to frustration and self-loathing.”
~ Marie Chapian ~

“For this very reason, make every effort
to supplement your faith with goodness,
goodness with knowledge,
knowledge with self-control,
self-control with endurance,
endurance with godliness.”
~ 2 Peter 1:5-6 ~

If you’d like a name added to the prayer list, please let me know. Names will be kept for one week and, each week, you must let me know the name to be added. My memory is terrible -smile-; around the world, people are praying.

Diana, thanks and loved the quotes as well.

Pom, it's been a LONG while since I've been on Rav; must check it out and friend you; thanks for the reminder.

Jody, that's a great quote; I need to print it out and stick it on the end of my nose.

Gail, print it off and give it to him; hope it helps…him and me!

Lea, that's a great quote and yes, boo for blogger.

Mary, I'm not sure which is more difficult…discipline or obedience.

Susan, your name was added to the prayer keeping list.

Dewena, I need to print them off and stick them on the end of my nose. -grin-

Deanna, keeping the Sabbath holy is a good thing; it helps keep us on track.

Cyndi, thank you and I'm always preaching to the choir. -smile-

LindaSue, discipline isn't even a relation in this household. I do, usually, have my devotions each morning and take care of my animals but, like you, the rest of life is so dang difficult these days.

Hmm I was positive I'd commented~ don't see it so I'll say again – discipline – she is not my twin or even a close relative. I think she is the wonderful auntie who comes and gets your underwear and jewelry drawers all tidied and makes you think it was your idea. Yeah – that or it is something I strive toward – I am disciplined only in my scripture readings/devotional time and taking care of my animals – other than that – not so much

    Dear One,
I am going to have to start taking my Sundays easier and rest. Reading your quotes helps.

May you have a great week.

Love these discipline quotes! This is something I definitely need to work on. I don't always have the follow through needed to accomplish what I could. I love that you are such a prayer warrior. I would always be glad to be included in your prayers!

i love the milhuff quote! how many of
our agonies are brought by our choices?
then we blame the consequences on God.

when you mentioned that you hoped your
comments were coming through at my
place, i sped over here to see if mine had.

i scrolled back through several posts and
couldn't see any of my comments. boo
    for blogger.
