Sabbath Keeping

by Sandra Bennett
Sabbath Keeping· TCF

20 Aug
“God is not man that he should lie,
or a son of man that he should change his mind.
Has he said, and will he not do it?
Or has he spoken, and will he not fulfill it?
~ Numbers 23:19 ~

Through the pitch-black night, the Captain sees a light dead ahead on a collision course. He sends a signal, “Change your course 10 degrees east.”
The light signals back, “Change yours, 10 degrees west.”
Angry, the Captain sends, “I’m a Navy Captain, change your course, sir!”
I’m a seaman, second class,” comes the reply. “Change your course, sir.”
Now the Captain is furious. “I’m a battleship! I’m not changing course!”
There is one last reply. “I’m a lighthouse. Your call.”

“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above,
coming down from the Father of lights with whom
there is no variation or shadow due to change.”
~ James 1:17 ~

If you’d like a name added to the prayer list, please let me know. Unless requested, names will be left for thirty days; all over the world, people are praying.

Hi Pom – temps are getting cooler but leaves are still green. The cooler temps are welcome!

Hi Linda Sue – faithfulness is always worth hearing about; I could hear it every day -smile-.

Hi Timi – the lighthouse story really speaks to my heart.

Dear Jane and Lance – that light house story is worth reading and remembering. We all fight change
and it's the only constant in our lives. Fighting change is, probably, the think
I'm really good at doing .

Dear Yvonne – I'm so sorry about your loss and have added Renee to the prayer list.

Hi Grace – thank you, it was horrible, losing Abbie and Grace on Fri and Mon. They were seniors and it was time but still terribly hard.

Hi Deanna – it was a good story, wasn't it?

Hi Leigh – I'm glad you enjoy Sabbath Keeping; they are a labor of love.

    Dear Sandra,
I'm finally reading a month of back blogs and I"m so sorry that I didn't send hugs and sympathy sooner for your loss of Abbie and Gracie. Oh how I know how hard it is to lose a precious beloved pet…. but two in such a short time must have left you with an even bigger gaping wound.
    I'm SO very sorry.
And your fall! Oh my…. any dizziness etc?
    Grace

    Big hug.
My man went to Heaven in 2002.
    Seems like yesterday.

    Hello Sandra:
What a wonderful story of the battleship and the lighthouse. And so full of very real meaning.

We all have so much to learn.

sermon this morning was about faithfulness – God is always the same – we aren't and in my case – that is a good thing. Course is ok right now – no lights refusing to give way – but then I am only "at sea" with my emotions.
Bless you – change is inevitable in all except our Creator!
