“For I know the thoughts I think toward you, saith the Lord,
thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”
~ Jeremiah 29:11 ~
“Thinking is the greatest torture in the world for most people.”
~anonymous~
“Never express yourself more clearly than you are able to think.”
~ Niels Bohr ~
“One must live the way one thinks or
end up thinking the way one has lived.”
~ Paul Bourget ~

“Thoughts are things: they have tremendous power. Thoughts of doubt and fear are pathways to failure. When you conquer negative attitudes of doubt and fear you conquer failure. Thoughts crystallize into habit and habit solidifies into circumstances.”
~ Bryan Adams ~

“You are today where your thoughts have brought you;
you will be tomorrow where your thoughts take you.”
~ James Allen ~

“You live with your thoughts so be careful what they are.” ~ Eva Arrington ~

“If everybody thought before they spoke,
the silence would be deafening.”
~ George Barzan ~

“No matter how hard you work for success if your thought is saturated with the fear of failure, it will kill your efforts, neutralize your endeavors and make success impossible.”
~ Baudjuin ~

“The power of thought,
the magic of the mind.”
~ Lord Bryon ~
“Thought is the parent of the deed.”
~ Thomas Caryle ~
“Sooner or later,
false thinking brings wrong conduct.”
~ Julian S. Huxley ~

“Why should we think upon things that are lovely? Because thinking determines life. It is a common habit to blame life upon the environment. Environment modifies life but does not govern life. The soul is stronger than its surroundings.” ~ William James ~

“Thought takes man out of servitude, into freedom.”
~ Henry Wadsworth Longfellow ~
“Watch your thoughts, for they become words.
Watch your words, for they become actions.
Watch your actions, for they become habits.
Watch your habits, for they become character.
Watch your character, for it becomes your destiny.”
~ anonymous ~
“If you make people think they’re thinking they’ll love you:
but if you really make them think, they’ll hate you.”
~ Don Marquis ~
“No brain is stronger than its weakest think.”
~ Thomas Merton ~

“Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, let your mind think on these things.”
~ Philippians 4:8 ~

If you’d like your name added to the prayer list, please let me know. Your name will be listed for one month unless you update me; around the world, people are praying.

I'm writing that one down on my hand – in permanent ink – for when I get in trouble for speaking my mind. Often too often.

These are beautiful and important exhortations to guard our thoughts, to pay attention to what is in our hearts. I also love Philippians 4:8 – one of my favorite verses!

Thank you for this wonderful Sunday-Post, dear Thistle!

I love Philippians 4:8 VERY much.

We pray in our church every Sunday:
"So let us confess, that we have transgressed with thoughts, words and dees."

Since short time I try to watch my thoughts better, and whwn I hear a bad one, I send a good one after! A good trick 🙂

    Sweet Summer Blessings!
So true about our thoughts turning into action, etc. into character.

I go back to Phil. 4:8 a lot. It's really helped keep my thoughts from dwelling on vain imaginations.

Oh, I have missed my visits here at Thistle Cove…

Some of these quotes made me laugh out loud…Merton…Barzan…but Bourget's will be the one I ponder today…and probably share on Facebook this week! Thank you, Sandra…

I am back to blogging and a new business. Your little cove is the first place I went. I can't tell you how much it inspired me this morning. I am going through the lesson of learning how to be happy under any circumstances…God has been faithful and it is just a matter of maturing. Becoming more patient with things I have no control over. Learning to Put Him first in all things. I will be having a give away this week and wanted to make sure you knew about it. It will be for a gift certificate in my shop. Please stop by and let me know what you think…this is the hardest part…putting it out there. I would really value your opinion.
    Have a blessed day,
    Karen Hoida
