Road Less Traveled

by Sandra Bennett

~ the road less traveled ~
In spite of…perhaps despite…everything that has to be done to get ready for the picnic on Saturday, I ran away from home. Sleeping, eating, resting, relaxing; having nothing to do other than what I want is a blessing and a gift. Life on the farm is put on hold, chores left undone, fleeces left unshipped — it’s time to take a short while to recharge my batteries.
The picnic is Saturday and I’ll be home in good enough time to have everything ready. Do not worry.
You concentrate on deciding and fixing your best dish. ‘K?

Blessings ~ sleep ~ sleep ~ sleep ~
Restfully yours,
Sandra

Oh Sandra – I was just wondering if you did make that little get away – I pray that it was what you needed to recharge your batteries and bring you some much deserved peace and REST!

I will be looking forward to hearing about the picnic~~

Your comment at Toyin's latest post (as of today) caught my eye… and here I am.

Truth is: I'm homesick and I'm ready for heaven. But you are right, only God knows when the right time is.

I read this post, and wish you all the rest and sleep you can have. Then may Satruday's picnic turn out to be a delightful one for you.

I scrolled down and read up to the third one from up here… entitled Counting Time by Heartbeats.

My tears didn't literally fall, but I knew deep inside I was crying with every word of yours that I read.

Don't want to say anything more, except that I am honestly glad I found your blog. So beautiful.

This is one of the really neat things about the blog world. Somewhere out there, just waiting to be discovered, is someone – maybe from another continent and culture – who thinks and feels the same way you do. Amazing.

    Love
    Lidj

I think in today's world it is truly vital to recharge. Even a vacation isn't stress-free if one is racing about trying to do & see everything.
Rest, reflection, pondering, looking out over waters or skies, dreaming…we all need and must have this. Good for you !!!

    Hello Sandra and Dave:
For some inexplicable reason we seem to have missed your last few posts and have only just caught up with them.

We are so sorry to hear of your illness, Dave, and know from our own experience that it is the support of family and friends at this time that matters so much. One cannot pretend that the road ahead of you both will be easy but you have strength in your faith and in each other. We hope that you will be able to draw upon these when the going gets particularly difficult.

And, giving yourslves time and space to do whatever you feel you need to do is so terribly important. Just like batteries, humans cannot run on empty so make sure that you look after yourselves and recharge as necessary.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you both.
