“But godliness with contentment is great gain.”
~ I Timothy 6:6 ~

“True contentment is a thing as active as agriculture. It is the power of getting out of any situation all that there is in it. It is arduous and it is rare.” ~ Gilbert K. Chesterton ~

“Contentment is natural wealth, luxury is artificial poverty.” ~ Socrates ~

“It is better to want what you have than to have what you want.” ~ Proverb ~

“The world is full of people looking for spectacular happiness while they snub contentment.”
~ Doug Larson ~

“What makes us discontented with our condition is the absurdly exaggerated idea
we have of the happiness of others.”
~ Proverb ~

“True contentment depends not upon what we have; a tub was large enough for Diogenes, but a world was too little for Alexander.” ~  Charles Caleb Colton ~

“Not that I speak in respect of want:
for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am,
therewith to be content.”
~ Philippians 4:11 ~

true contentment must be a sign of
maturity. alas, i am still immature,
but i am at least learning to trust
Him for what i don't have.

    merry Christmas,
    lea

ps. i smiled at your comment about
wanting to know how a movie ends.
i am the same way, because i can
enjoy it so much more when i'm
    relaxed.

Thank you for sharing, your verses bless me and give me food for thought. I just wanted you to know I will be praying for you. I didn't know. I will be praying God will send someone to open a door for you.
When I am in a trial, always words from other people get me through. It helps to know the people who have passed this way before. It always comforts me deeply.
Thank you for sharing your heart.
Prayers and hugs from me to you.

Nice reading!!! I enjoyed going thru your site and looking at your great pics and reading about your farm life. Yes, it is all about the simple life. Wouldnt our Nation be more what it used to be if more felt that way. Blessings. Lady Jane
