It is centered on God.”

“If you believe what you like in the gospels,
and reject what you don’t like,
it is not the gospel you believe, but yourself.”
~ Saint Augustine ~
“Were there no God,
we would be in this glorious world
with grateful hearts
 and no one to thank.”

“Is your place a small place? Tend it with care, He set you there.
Is your place a large place? Guard it with care! He set you there.
Whate’er your place, it is not yours alone, but his Who set you there.”
~ John Oxenham ~
“To fall in love with God is the greatest of all romances;
To seek him, the greatest adventure;
To find him, the greatest human achievement.”
~ Raphael Simon ~
“Most of us wait until we’re in trouble, and then we pray like the dickens. Wonder what would happen if, some morning, we’d wake up and say, “Anything I can do for You today, Lord?” ~ Burton Hillis ~
“We remain such creeping Christians
because we look at ourselves instead of Christ.”
~ George McDonald ~

“But without faith it is impossible to please him;
for he that cometh to God must believe that he is,
and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.”

    Sandra, again I've printed this out will keep it out by the chair where I have my quiet time. It is amazing how often they are just the verses and quotes that speak to my need that week.

    Stay safe in the coming week. I hope you don't get too much more snow now.

    I look forward to your Sunday posts. Ever since I started reading them I've been devoting more of my thoughts toward God, relaxing and reveling in His gifts. Thank you.

    Christy and I got to go hear Alistar McGrath speak at Wheaton College last week. He just finished a book on C.S. Lewis and it was such a delightful evening.

    Happy Sunday.
    Fondly,
    Glenda

    The more we depend on God, the more dependable we find He is. I have found this to be so true. Thanks for all the golden nuggets today!
    @LindaSue, "tame Lion" reminds me of the video series we are doing in our extended family Bible studies. "The Sovereignty of God".
