“Who can find a virtuous and capable wife? She is more precious than rubies. Her husband can trust her, and she will greatly enrich his life. She brings him good, not harm, all the days of her life.”
~ Proverbs 31:10-12 ~
“Be very careful if you make a woman
cry, because God counts her tears. The woman
came out of a man’s rib. Not from his feet to be
walked on. Not from his head to be superior, but
from the side to be equal. Under the arm to be
protected, and next to the heart to be loved.” ~ Talmud ~
“Self-pity is our worst enemy and if we yield to it, we can never do anything wise in the world.”
~ Helen Keller ~
“One reason we are so harried and hurried is that we make yesterday and tomorrow our business, when all that legitimately concerns us is today. If we really have too much to do, there are some items on the agenda which God did not put there. Let us submit the list to Him and ask Him to indicate which items we must delete. There is always time to do the will of God. If we are too busy to do that, we are too busy.” ~ Elisabeth Elliott ~
Is portioned out for me,
And the changes that are sure to come
I do not fear to see;
I ask Thee for a present mind,
Intent on pleasing Thee.
That hurries to and fro,
Seeking for some great thing to do
Or secret thing to know;
And guided where I go.
In whatsoever estate,
I have a fellowship with hearts
To keep and cultivate .
“Similarly, teach the older women to live in a way that honors God. They must not slander others or be heavy drinkers. Instead, they should teach others what is good. These older women must train the younger women to love their husbands and their children, to live wisely and be pure, to work in their homes, to do good, and to be submissive to their husbands. Then they will not bring shame on the word of God.” ~ Titus 2:3-5 ~
Rebecca Writes of November gratitude; my heart is grateful for Dave, my husband who has never raised his hand to me except in love. I wish all women could say the same about the men in their lives.

Beautiful post and inspiring words. I hope you and Dave are well. You're right, it is a very rare thing to find a man worthy of praise and thanksgiving. Thankfully, I can say the same of Jon 🙂
Happy Thanksgiving and, as always, thank you for sharing your lovely place in the mountains with us.

Thank-you! I especially like the quote by Elisabeth Elliot. How often I have found myself too busy to do things that were of eternal value, and every time I have wondered how I got myself so busy doing those things…and I know it is because I did not seek His guidance and wisdom for my use of time, His time.

Lovely things to think about, I love them all. Do you know much about Anna L. Waring? I have searched through old things I have but have never been able to find out much about her life. I even found stuff out about Annie Johnson Flint. You maybe already know this but tomorrow was the day Kennedy was assassinated but also the death of the wonderful C.S. Lewis and also Thomas Huxley.
It always makes me sad that C.S. Lewis was overlooked.
Really great thoughts today.
Thanks
