Sabbath Keeping

“Unhappiness on earth cultivates a hunger for heaven. By gracing us with a deep dissatisfaction, God holds our attention. The only tragedy, then, is to be satisfied prematurely. To settle for earth. To be content in a strange land…
We are not happy here because we are not at home here. We are not happy here because we are not supposed to be happy here. We are “like foreigners and strangers in this world” (I Pet. 2:11)…
And you will never be completely happy on earth simply because you were not made for earth. Oh, you will have your moments of joy. You will catch glimpses of light. You will know moments or even days of peace. But they simply do not compare with the happiness that lies ahead.”

When God Whispers Your Name from January 10, Grace for the Moment; Max Lucado

“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”

Ephesians 6:12~ One road, leading out of the Cove. ~

“These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them and embraced them from afar, and having confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.”
Hebrews 11:13

Blessings ~ the same road leading out of the Cove, leads home again ~ witnesses ~ strength for the asking ~ hunger for heaven ~ ready to go but not homesick ~ made for Him ~

Ah, it's time to take a good soak at Thistle Cove…Great message. I have always felt strange, but that's because I'm a stranger! An alien in this world. Can't wait to get home.

    Blessings dear heart,

Oh so true! This wisdom from scripture, from God, is so contrary to the wisdom of the world that would have happiness and wealth be the be-all, end-all for us. How many of us have heard parents say of a beloved child gone seriously astray, and in defense of their (parents)ENABLING or supporting the rebellion, "but I am so glad they are happy, that is the most important thing". Oh really, is that indeed the most important thing? I think this post states the truth. Thank-you!

As I shared with someone else today–I think I am happy because I am in Him and he is the happiest being there is! He is accomplishing his purposes and glorifing Himself.

So true. I believe I struggle so in this world cause it is not my home. I have always felt I don't belong and I catch myself waiting for my home to come and find me.
This song says it all for me…
This world is not my home I'm just a passin' through…
My treasures are laid up somewhere beyond the blue…
The angels beckon me from Heavens open door…
And I can't feel at home in this world anymore!
    Blessings

This is an excellent post…all of us that are saved by grace believers can just as easily get caught up in the world as the lost…remembering that this is a temporary testing ground will restore our joy and our testimony to others of the power of God in our lives. Thanks for sharing!

    God bless!
