Sabbath Keeping

by Sandra Bennett
Sabbath Keeping

31 Oct

“It would seem that Our Lord finds our desires not too strong, but too weak. We are half-hearted creatures, fooling about with drink and sex and ambition when infinite joy is offered us, like an ignorant child who wants to go on making mud pies in a slum because he cannot imagine what is meant by the offer of a holiday at the sea. We are far too easily pleased.” ~ C. S. Lewis ~

“Knowledge will get you from A to Z. Imagination will take you everywhere.” ~ Albert Einstein ~

“You’re only given a little spark of madness. Don’t lose it.” ~ Robin Williams ~

“I saw the angel in the marble and carved until I set him free.” ~ Michelangelo ~

“Vision is the true creative rhythm.” ~ Robert Delaunay ~

“What is now proved was once only imagined.” ~ William Blake ~

“True originality consists not in a new manner but in a new vision.” ~ Edith Wharton ~

“A man may imagine things that are false, but he can only understand things that are true, for if the things be false, the apprehension of them is not understanding.” ~ Isaac Newton ~

“You can’t depend on your eyes when your imagination is out of focus.” ~ Mark Twain ~

“Imagination is everything. It is the preview of life’s coming attractions.” ~ Albert Einstein ~

“I believe that imagination is stronger than knowledge. That myth is more potent than history. That dreams are more powerful than facts. That hope always triumphs over experience. That laughter is the only cure for grief. And I believe that love is stronger than death.” ~ Robert Fulghum, All I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten ~

“Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.” ~ I Corinthians 2:9 ~

1 Corinthians 2:9 is such a great verse to ponder and that song goes well with it.

ohhhh such good quotes to read and reread and jot down to read again a bit later. and later again. i’m hope you’re snuggled in this first november day, sandra, with the pooches close by – warming yourselves by the fire. and if not, if you’re busy as a bee which i suspect you most likely are, i pray the Lord would give you his strength for each moment in all ways: physical, emotional, spiritual. hugs.
