Sabbath Keeping ~ Easter

by Sandra Bennett

21 Apr

“For in the hand of the Lord there is a cup of foaming wine, well mixed and He pours out from it, and all the wicked of the earth shall drain it down to the dregs.” ~ Psalm 75:8 ~

Christ is risen and so shall I….alleluia!

“Tomb, thou shalt not hold Him longer; Death is strong, but Life is stronger; Stronger than the dark, the light; Stronger than the wrong, the right; Faith and Hope triumphant say Christ will rise on Easter Day. It was inevitable that Jesus Christ should be crucified. It was also inevitable that He should rise again.” ~ Phillips Brooks ~

The tombs of Muhammad, Buddha and Confucius are full. There is but one empty tomb and it was used by Christ; because He lives, so will those who accept and follow Him.

“God proved His love on the Cross. When Christ hung, and bled, and died, it was God saying to the world, ‘I love you.'” ~ Billy Graham ~

Life is so very temporal compared to eternity in heaven…or hell.

“Few people seem to realize the resurrection of Jesus is the cornerstone to a world view that provides the perspective to all of life.” ~ Josh McDowell ~

Every parting, a foretaste of death ~ every reunion a hint of the resurrection.” ~ Arthur Schopenhauer ~

“Our faith doesn’t deliver us; the object of our faith, Christ, delivers us.”

“Be thou comforted, little dog. Thou too, in Resurrection, shall have a little golden tail.” ~ Martin Luther ~

“When you kill time, remember it has no resurrection.” ~ A W Tozer ~

“‘What are we to make of Christ?’ There is no question of what we can make of Him, it is entirely a question of what He intends to make of us. You must accept or reject the story.” ~ C S Lewis ~

“And He said, “Abba, Father, all things are possible for You. Take this cup away from Me; nevertheless, not what I will, but what You will.” ~ Mark 14:326 ~

Prayers for victims in Sri Lanka, for those misguided by their religious hatred, for those alone and lonely, for those who have lost their way, for those who hunger and thirst for truth, for those suffering and in pain, for yourself. This week, how can you be Jesus?

Amalia – p.s. is there a specific way I may pray for you? If so, send me a private note.
