“What kind of peace do we seek? Not a Pax Americana enforced on the world by American weapons of war. Not the peace of the grave or the security of the slave. I am talking about genuine peace, the kind of peace that makes life on earth worth living, the kind that enables men and nations to grow and to hope and to build a better life for their children…not merely peace in our time but peace for all time.” ~ J. F. Kennedy ~
“If the human race wishes to have a prolonged and indefinite period of material prosperity, they have only got to behave in a peaceful and helpful way toward one another.”
~ Winston Churchill ~

This Gaelic Blessing is a help, a reminder that I need only to look around me–and turn off the news, or should I say beg the master of the house to turn it off!
Are these your sheep? They are so pretty.
Those sheep were at WoolFest, held in Cockermouth, England. I went last year, had a blast and saw so many sheep not in this country. When Dave died, I gave up subscription television; my life became a lot quieter and more peaceful. A Blessing!
Love reading your blog, as you know. And, those sheep make me HAPPY !!
Sheep always make me happy!
It was peaceful to come here and read all these great quotes on peace. Peace to you…
and to you Ellen. It's worth a lot to live peacefully.
Lisa is so right!
WONDERFUL GEMS, dear Sandra!
What are these sheep on the photo, so nice brown coat and white head??
Dori, I saw those sheep at 2017 Wool Fest in Cockermouth, England. I can't remember the breed but they are beautiful!
Yes, they really are beautiful! My sister also read this post about peace!
Love the Gaelic blessing and all of the quotes! 🙂

Thank you for your Sunday posts. They are a blessing to me.
You're so welcome; you're on my prayer list.
Sandra, I'm sure you've listened to the beautiful musical versions of this blessing? Haunting. Hope you're going to jig my jig out there on the farm today! I was thinking of you as I posted!
Hiya Mags…just watched it, lovely! It's a beautiful day on the farm, won't you be my neighbor?
Your blog is a blessing to me. Your words are so well chosen and offer comfort to your reader. Thank you. May God bless you for going forth and making His word known.
Thank you for the gift of your time and comment; God bless you, yours and the work of your hands and heart.
I hope you are doing well. I know you're grieving. (BIG hug)
You're so right when you say pray for the schools, the teachers, the kids, the bus drivers. Bless you.
thanks for the hugs, Karen; it's been surreal.
I have always loved that Gaelic blessing.
It is SO beautiful; speaks to the heart, doesn't it?
