Sadie and Sam are both “good helpers” during farm chores, keeping an eye open for ground hogs, rabbits and other “farm vermin”.
Dang. Now that I’ve loaded all these photos, I check and find out National Dog Day has been changed from Aug 26 to 31.
tough. It’s after 9 p.m. and my flannel nightgown wants to go to bed and I must take it.
Gray Tom isn’t fazed when Sadie decides to play; the cat takes it in stride, knowing he’s really the ruler here.
An enjoyable time is spent sitting on the porch, watching Sadie Lovebug and Sam P. Spade, Secret Agent play in the yard.
Not sure what Sam is telling Sadie; bet it’s interesting. These past few mornings the temp has been 42/43 degrees F around 6 a.m. but it’s sure to be even cooler at 5…if I’d thought to check.
The county library has Two Fat Ladies DVD’s and they are a hoot! Dave and I watched every episode, back in the day, and thoroughly enjoyed them. The Two Fat Ladies are now deceased but due to the magic of film, they can still be viewed and appreciated.
Blessings ~ cooler weather ~ Two Fat Ladies DVD’s ~ my best buddies, Sadie and Sam ~ Gray Tom ~ people who pray and if you’re one, please tuck me into prayer…a while back I had a bad fall and am struggling to recover, thank you ~

Everyone was posting on Instagram. Who decides when National Dog Day is? Everything sure looks pretty during the summer in your area. Nice big yard for the dogs to wander in. Just what they need.

It's always "dog day" around here with the two JRT's. I miss having a big dog. They are the best. It's a little cooler here too. LOVE this weather, it's excellent riding temp's. Hope the good weather stays. ~:)

Sandra, how nice to see your pets enjoying each other! Boy, you've had some really chilly temps this week–I think I smell Autumn. The weekend is supposed to be warmer here, so summer is not finished with us yet. Enjoy your weekend. ♥

That is a big dog.
I enjoyed watching The Two Fat Ladies when they were on TV. I loved how they sat around after the meal and drank a Scotch and smoked a cigarette before heading off on the motorcycle. Great fun.

Sandra, your dogs look like so much fun to play with. How can the national dog day be moved from one day to the next?

Hi Sandra, Love seeing Sadie and Sam having fun playing in the yard. Gray Tom seems to handle them well.
I am looking forward to flannel days again. Your morning temps sounds perfect. We are looking forward to fall here and a break from the heat!
I always love to see your beautiful header. What a view and a gift each time you look out.
Blessings to you my friend. cm

Love seeing your dogs play . . . Ever noticed how dogs "smile" when they are happy?
I will check out the videos . . .

What!? Who had the nerve to change the day forward to the 31st? Now our dogs are really going to get fat because the were treated well on The Day I was told to give them a noodle with gravy and extra biscuits. Now we have to repeat the praise, the pats, the love and extra that's on the 31st?

Adam and I LOVED watching the two fat ladies and their escapades on that bike across England. I didn't know they'd both died. They are fun! Your lovely pups look happy. I miss them 🙂

Your two canine family members have a wonderful life helping you there at Thistle Cove Farm. Your gray feline has it made too and doesn't let them faze her. 🙂
I just did a You-Tube search and found 'The Two Fat Ladies' and started watching the first episode. Thank you for mentioning them. I am going to enjoy this series.
Have a great weekend ~ FlowerLady

My husband & I LOVE 'Two Fat ladies' ! I know one of the ladies has since died, but their show is wonderful. Good food, good friends, lots of humor, worth watching over and over. Boy oh boy Sandra, I really think you & I would have a blast together.
Every day is National Dog Day here… with 4 dogs we love, this is a given !
