“Sow with a view to righteousness
Reap in accordance with kindness;
Break up your fallow ground,
for it is time to seek the LORD until
He comes to rain righteousness on you.”
~ Hosea 10:12 ~

“If I had eight hours to chop down a tree,
I’d spend six sharpening my axe.”
~ Abraham Lincoln ~

“Another way to be prepared is to think negatively. Yes, I’m a great optimist, but, when trying to make a decision, I often think of the worst case scenario. I call it ‘the eaten by wolves factor.’ If I do something, what’s the most terrible thing that could happen? Would I be eaten by wolves? One thing that makes it possible to be an optimist, is if you have a contingency plan for when all hell breaks loose. There are a lot of things I don’t worry about because I have a plan in place if they do.” ~ Randy Pausch ~
“The best preparation for tomorrow is doing your best today.”
~ H. Jackson Brown, Jr. ~
“Unfortunately, there seems to be far more opportunity out there than ability. …We should remember that good fortune often happens when opportunity meets with preparation.”
~ Thomas A. Edison ~
“Spectacular achievement is always preceded by unspectacular preparation.” ~ Robert H. Schuller ~
“Worrying paralyzes progress; prayer, preparation and persistence ensures it.” ~ T. F. Hodge ~
“To be prepared for war is one of the most effective means of preserving peace.” ~ George Washington ~
“Fortune favors the prepared mind.” ~ Louis Pasteur ~
“I say luck is when an opportunity comes along and you’re prepared for it.” ~ Denzel Washington ~

“By failing to prepare,
you are preparing to fail.”
~ Benjamin Franklin ~

“Therefore be ye also ready:
for in such an hour as ye think not
the Son of man cometh.”
~ Matthew 24:44 ~

I just read something similar in another blog — that when expectations are low or lower, having them surpassed is much easier! Lovely post!

Wow, Sandra! Have you been reading my mail? I'm not familiar with the verse from Hosea but I sure need it! I know I'm going to be thinking about being prepared now–and obviously preparing must be done.

    Persistence! Onward!

I especially like the one from Abe, which I've never heard before.
Hoping all is well with you and yours, Sandra, and that your Dad especially is doing better.
