Sabbath Keeping

by Sandra Bennett

“Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old.
Behold, I am doing a new thing;
now it springs forth, do you not perceive it?
I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.”
~ Isaiah 43:18-19 ~

“Write it on your heart that every day is the best day of the year.” ~ Emerson ~
“I feel sorry for people who maintain relationships and friendships detrimental to their mental health. Everyone is guilty of it at one time or another-but the idea is to strive to be your best; right?
So, meanwhile why are so many people faking it? Security? Fear of loneliness? Fears of independence? Fears of being self? Or just the idea that you can make someone change?
Regardless of the justifications you give and treat yourself to…, I hope all of you-“new year-new me types” strive for self care, honest and pure friendships and relationship based of love-and not based off the fake realities of your mind. These delusions of what you hope for instead of what’s there, where you and your puppet show master focus more on everyone else and less on self. To change the world you must start within. But you must first BE HONEST with yourself.
My new year started a few months ago–and it was the best choice I ever made-and I hope your recreations are progressive and successful in THE NEW YEAR” ~ Tiffany Luard ~
“You can get excited about the future; the past won’t mind.” ~ Hillary dePiano ~

“Be at war with your vices,
At peace with your neighbors,,
and let every new year find you a better [wo]man.”
~ Benjamin Franklin ~

“And now we welcome the new year. Full of things that have never been.” ~ Rilke ~
“I think in terms of the day’s resolutions, not the year’s.” ~ Henry Moore ~

“Resolution 1: I will live for God.
Resolution 2: If no one else does, I still will.”
~ Jonathan Edwards ~

“So be truly glad. There is wonderful joy ahead, even though you have to endure many trials for a little while. These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold–though your faith is far more precious than mere gold…” ~ 1 Peter 1:6-7 ~

Difficult to do each day, but, oh, so good to try.

Or it would be if we weren't so often waiting for a different day to arrive! I know I often miss the special things of today because I'm peering ahead. 🙂

Love the Isaiah scripture! Wonderful thoughts as always, Sandra!

    Love your home & property.

    And, Sunday posts.

Add my ex-husband, married 30 years, alcoholic. He had emergency triple bypass open heart surgery before Christmas, and complications.

    Thanks.

    Happy New Year…..

Garden & Be Well, XO Tara

I also take my resolution(s) one day at a time. Sometimes, one hour at a time.
Sometimes, 16 minutes at a time!
I love that quote from Emerson! Of all that little gang of 19th c Concord "thinkers" (who I grew up thinking of as locals), RWE is by far the one whose words have rung truest to me, always.
