Dori, you're so right…good, strong vs. false, negative. Excellent point!
Hi Ginny, thanks for visiting and it is a beautiful valley and farm. God did some of His best work here! BTW, it's for sale if you know someone who is looking…

Wonderful quotes that all apply to the Sabbath. And your header is beautiful, rolling hills and pastures…

Wonderful sentences, I love to see both points: the good and strong aspects of waiting and the false, negative aspects of waiting.

Hi Gretchen, sometimes I amaze myself because it's God and some serendipity. Perhaps at different times of our lives, we're waiting for different things. As to Annie's quote, she's a smarty pants and have enjoy some of her work for years.
Thank God for His gift of Jesus!

This is a quote theme I haven't explored myself – I could get lost for a while thinking about whether I am waiting for something, or someone, or if God or life is waiting for me. 🙂 Thank you for a little philosophy exercise. At least I don't have to wonder about our Blessed Hope, and that is a kind of waiting that doesn't preclude a lot of doing.
And for humor and/or conviction, the quote about the opposite of talking being waiting is a winner.

Thanks, Sparky – by the time I'm down for the evening, it's time to get ready for bed -lol-.
Hi Patty, I'm always preaching to the choir -smile- and thank you for letting me know you appreciate them.

Hi Linda Kay – that is a favorite of mine as well.
LOVE that quote and OH so true! Thank you, Karen.

Hi Celeste – bless you for letting me know you appreciate Sabbath Keeping; when others find it inspirational, it gives me hope.
Hi Lisa, that's a favorite of several! Love your daughter's name…beautiful!

I especially like the E.M. Forster quote. We sometimes hang onto what we think are great plans for our future, in effect keeping God from doing something even greater! I also like the Micah quote. (My daughter's name is Micah!) 🙂

Hello dear Sandra! I like this quote, too.
" He makes us wait. He keeps us on purpose in the dark. He makes us walk when we want to run, sit still, when we want to walk. For He has things to do in our souls
that we are not interested in."
—Elisabeth Elliot, Secure In The Everlasting Arms—p.45
I got it from Kim's blog (Field of Dreams).
Sending love your way, good girl!
Linda Kay says
I especially liked the Forster quote. We do try to plan too much ahead instead of waiting for direction. Each day can be a surprise!
Linda Sue McKinney says
we rarely know exactly what we are waiting for – but those who wait upon the Lord – ahhhh – He rewards the wait – I'm living proof – life is so much better than I could have imagined!
