There is never a right time to do a difficult thing.”

“What I like most about change is that it’s a synonym for “hope”. If you are taking a risk, what you are really saying is, “I believe in tomorrow and I will be a part of it.”
~ Linda Ellerbee ~
“A flower does not think about competing with the flower next to it. It just blooms.”
“The most exhausting thing in life, I have discovered, is being insincere. That is why so much of social life is exhausting; one is wearing a mask. I have shed my mask.”
~ Anne Morrow Lindbergh ~
“It’s not the load that breaks you down, it’s the way you carry it.” ~ Lena Horne ~
“Nothing is so painful to the human mind as a great and sudden change.”
~ Mary Shelley ~

Celeste, Happy Decoration Day to you as well. It gladdens me when folks enjoy Sabbath Keeping; makes it all worthwhile.
She's a delight, Quinn, and if you've never read her, you're in for a treat.

It's late in the night, and I just opened these qutoes for a good word for sleeping. And exactly the first sentence was the sentence, the Spirit wanted to say to me. Thank you, Thistle, finding this!

Pam, a female model was asked if she had any tatoos; her response, "Would you put a bumper sticker on a Ferrari?"
I've never even had a henna tat and don't want one either. Dave always called them "tramp stamps".
I like your take on the Cohen quote…very good.
Rainey, you're so kind…s/he didn't leave an e-mail either. All I could do was respond here.

Dear Heritage Hall ~ My heart goes out to you as I lost my dear husband of 43 years almost 18 months ago. Two weeks ago for you is just the beginning of this journey.

Every time I see some idjit with a tattoo or hear that they vote Demoncrat, I'll remember the Anne Morrow Lindbergh quote above, "I do not believe that sheer suffering teaches. If suffering alone taught, all the world would be wise, since everyone suffers. To suffering must be added mourning, understanding, patience, love, openness and the willingness to remain vulnerable." Apparently, suffering goes along with stupidity. I'm firmly convinced that most people don't like freedom because that entails work.
I get seasick too but I guarantee it has nothing to do with not being the stop it. Best to let it play itself out then when it's done proceed with what you ocean. I think the statement means that sometimes we have to go with the flow because it's impossible to fight water. I know because I grew up with water all around me. Water's going to go where it's going to go. Nothing can wanted to do. That's my take. ~:)

Gretchen, I'm still thinking about the Cohen quote; not quite sure what to make of it. It did call to mind the time I was snorkeling at St. Croix, open ocean, and became quite seasick. It was so bad I had to return to the boat and, since then, I've had a problem with snorkeling. If the water is the least bit rough (and isn't it almost always the least bit rough?), I become overwhelmed and have to get out of the water.
Heritage Hall, I am so terribly sorry. If you ever need to chat, let me know; Dave died a few years ago and the loss is as keen now as it was then.
Lynne, she's a favorite but seems to have fallen out of favor; the younger set know of her no longer.
Mildred, hurrah! Good news all 'round…you moved and have a contract. I am envious…sigh.
Rainey, that spoke to my heart as well; it's been a terribly long uphill climb but I do feel as though I'm going to make it. "It takes as long as it takes." xo
Buttons, they spoke directly to me today and I thought others might find one or two they loved as well.
You're welcome, Donna; you're thought of often and tucked into prayer.
You're right, Deborah, change is in the air. Hopefully God agrees and will soon bring a farm buyer so I can move to be closer to family.
Deborah Montgomery says
thank you Sandra for these quotes. I notice a common theme about change. It's hard. Will be praying for you. Blessings, Deborah

Thank you again Sandra for taking the time to share with us quotes that speak to our hearts and souls.
The quote that speaks to me today is:
"Letting go doesn't mean giving up,
but rather accepting there are things that cannot be."
"It isn't for the moment you are stuck that you need courage,
but for that long uphill climb back to sanity and faith and security."

I have read and listened to Anne Morrow Lindberg for many years . . . I liked these quotes . . . she helps me "give pause" . . .
The Serenity Prayer is one I say often . . . It is my "go to" prayer if I am sleepless at night . . . for whatever reason.
Heritage Hall says
Oh dear one….. your quotes today really found a home in my
heart ….I lost my Beloved two weeks ago and needed comfort and nourishment for the long climb back ……. see what you sharing
can do? Bless you.

Quite the collection today!! I'm saving about half of them in my own Quotes collection.
That one from Cohen will keep me thinking a while: …become the ocean…
