Once again, it’s past time for Patrice and her Chats on the Farmhouse Porch. It seems all I do is visit her on Tuesdays, do Sabbath Keeping on Sundays and, sometimes, do a commentary post on Mondays. Summer is the time for w.o.r.k. and w.o.r.k. is wearing me slam down! This makes number 103 and here are the questions and my answers.
1. Do you use any type of water filter? No need to use water filters. Our well is 650 feet deep and gives 75 gallons per minute. It’s limestone delicious and sweet, sweet, sweet; I LOVE my water and we think we hit an artesian aquifer.
2. Do you have any tips for staying hydrated in warmer weather? Drink my body weight in ounces of water each day. It’s almost enough to float my teeth but that’s, probably, too much information.
3. Is your hair naturally curly or straight? Curly and wavy…it is what it is.
4. Are you on top of all the chores/work you do, or are you always running behind? I’m never caught up but try to take just the next step and, somehow, manage to not fall too far behind. When I try to do too many things at once, I accomplish nothing except anxiety and worry. And I always take Sunday’s off…I observe the Sabbath. If God observed His Sabbath after creating everything, why should I think I can do different and be successful? I also keep a running to-do list with The Most Important Things (2 to 3 daily) along with smaller chores; each day I try and mark off everything on that list. Rarely am I successful at doing that but always successful at adding more chores. sigh
5. If you could sing a song to Wendell, what would it be? The same song I sing to all my brood, Jesus Loves Me with a liberty or two.
Blessings ~ finished my book proposal ~ finished my speech ~ my new haircut ~ a long tepid shower ~ home made quiche lorraine ~ the gloaming over the valley ~ a new bar of handmade soap ~ a fresh nightgown ~

Kimberly, you are so kind, thank you for visiting.
Diana, that song still brings me such comfort.
Marsha, bless you but I don't feel so amazing; mostly I just feel tired. LOL
Karen, it helps keep me focused on my blessings, counting them.
Buttons, I still sing that song, a lot.
Yvonne…absolutely! Sunday is a day of REST.
LindaSue…you're so funny about my hair. Most days I barely remember to finger comb it and have loved having shorter hair. That was a great decision, cutting off most of my hair.
Debbie, my water is fabulous…sweet, cold, delicious.
Dori, that's okay, I don't have bandwidth so have to sing to myself -smile-.
Kathy, I'm sitting here in a flannel nightgown, it's 52 and going lower tonight and it's only July…okay, almost August.
Sue, thank you for your kind comment, thank you.
Sami Pat, I have talked about the book and will give an update soon.
Glenda, we are alike in that we sing to children but I also sing to the animals and myself.
Patrice, I sing to my animals all the time.
Mildred, mostly I sleep well every night but tonight it's chilly and I'm already in a flannel nightgown.
Sparky, I'm working on it, keep praying!
Val, blessings come in all sizes if we open our eyes and heart.
Val says
Your list of blessings at the end of each post always reminds me of entries from my gratitude journal in that they cover things both big and (seemingly) small, fresh-scented soaps and comfy nightshirts and all. 🙂
'Hope you're doing well, Sandra. ♥
Sparky says
Sign me up for the curly hair too! If I don't blow dry it I look like a brillo pad. [ha ha]
I am praying that you can find another buyer again soon. I know the constant physical labor must be getting tiresome. I'm 57 and have slowed down considerably of late, so, I understand.
Hope you have a blessed day gal! ~:)

You answered something I can whole heartedly agree with on #4. I am always behind- lots of worry and anxiety from all that doesn't get done. Wendell would like the song- I do. I taught it to my kids when they were small. I guess I should have taught it to Wendell too.
GLENDA CHILDERS says
I change the words to Jesus Loves Me to match whoever I am singing it to. (I only sing to children.):)
Fondly,
Glenda

A new bar of handmade soap and a fresh nightgown. Simple pleasures. Book proposal? Have you talked about that here?

I love learning these things about blogging friends ! I know how busy summers can be, and as much as i want to appreciate each and every season & day God blesses me with, i am already longing for Autumn and cool days to finish the harvest and feel O.K. about working indoors.
Blessings to you Sandra'

I also have a list that grows faster than I can prune it…kind of like asiatic bittersweet!
The water thing made me get out a calculator. Seems I drink at least that much – on most days, more. If there's one thing I'm good at, it's drinking water. Heck, I should put it on my list every morning!

I love this poem!
I'm sorry we cannot listen to this song because of German regulations (GEMA). But I love the poem!
Debby@Just Breathe says
Your water sounds lovely. I couldn't possibly drink my weight in ounces. I have very straight hair. I'm never on top of things. "Jesus loves me…" is my favorite!
LindaSue says
Jesus Loves Me is great theology too – my hair is fine and basically straight – I envy your hair in every picture!
Caught up – on a farm – I don't think so – Skip always said he'd live forever since we are supposed to finish our work (liberties with interpreting scripture taken) before we are taken home – so he had a century or more of work lined up!

I remember that song, I have well water, My hair is wimpy and straight, I have a crooked finger,I am over worked this Summer, it's all the rain the trees, bushes and grass are growing so fast. Can't wait till
