The Harley Biker

by Sandra Bennett

~ Levi Lily, my lion ~

A Harley biker is riding by the Washington, DC zoo when he sees a little girl leaning into the lion’s cage. Suddenly, the lion grabs the girl by her jacket and tries to pull her inside his cage! The biker jumps off his Harley, runs to the cage and, with a power punch, hits the lion on the nose.

The lion jumps back, letting go of the girl, and the biker returns the child to her terrified parents. A reporter, watching everything, tells the biker, “Sir, that was the  bravest thing I’ve ever seen!”

The biker replies, “Well, it was nothing, really, the lion was behind bars. I saw a child in danger and acted as I felt was right.”

The reporter says, “I’m a journalist and tomorrow’s paper will have this story on the front page. What do you do for a living and what political affiliation are you?”

The biker replies, “I’m a Marine and a Republican.”

The following morning’s newspaper headlines read:

U.S. MARINE ASSAULTS AFRICAN IMMIGRANT
 AND STEALS HIS LUNCH

which, pretty much, sums up the media’s approach to news these days.

Marsha, do you find it as amusing as do I, liberal folks tend not to understand this joke? Seemingly, they understand, quite well, when the joke is directed at conservatives but not the other

Vic, hope your favorite Marine enjoyed.

Dewena, I thought it was cute.

Holly, I wish I could help you but I'm clueless in how to Pin something.

    Farm Girl, all too true!

Sue, glad I could give you a chuckle.

Jill, I thought so as well.

    Lee, that's an excellent question!

    Sheri, I think not, unfortunately.

Marydon, at least we can still laugh.

    Elizabeth, it was funny…and sad.

    Donna, yep!

I am still laughing at this. Sadly this is the current news media.

About the mindset of the media, but a chuckle from me.

SO TRUE!!! I'm laughing at the story but it makes me hurt inside, too! Can anyone name a truthful journalist these days?

Love it…I just wonder whatever happened to real journalism rather than biased opinions 🙂

I love that Marine & his Republican stance. Unfortunately, the headline is TOO TRUE. Just look at the Benghazi continuing cover-up, now the IRS & the spying on the Fox News reporters. We only see the tip of the iceberg I'm sure. Only 3.5 more years, if I live that long.
