Sabbath Keeping

by Sandra Bennett
Sabbath Keeping· TCF

31 Mar
“Seek the Lord while He may be found,
Call upon Him while He is near.“
~ Isaiah 55:6 ~

“These…events are permitted and guided by thy wisdom, which solely is light. We are in darkness and must be thankful that our knowledge is not needed to perfect thy work.”
~ St. Elizabeth Seton ~
“He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain what he cannot lose.”
~ Jim Elliott ~

“You’re born. You suffer. You die.

Fortunately, there’s a loophole.”

~ Billy Graham ~

On a Saturday morning, Dave, suddenly and very unexpectedly, died of a massive heart attack. He was, quite literally, absent in the body, present with the Lord. The Monday prior he’d called me to his side, “How do I get right with God?” was his question.

The answer still is…it’s easy, really, you just have to want Jesus more than you want yourself. If you’re like me, you’ve not done too badly with your life but, there’s the nagging thought, it could be better… Yes, it can definitely be better!

There are many good books written on God, Christ and the Bible but there’s only one Bible. It alone is God’s Word, it alone tells us how to accept Christ, live a Christian life and, when we die, spend eternity in Heaven with God, Christ and those great cloud of witnesses.

God loves you, Jesus loves you and the Holy Spirit wants to be your Comforter. Christ tells us He is the Way, the Truth and the Life and no one comes to the Father, except through Him. The only way to eternity in Heaven is by saying to Jesus, “I love you and believe You’re the Son of God and died so I might spend eternity in heaven with You.”

Yes, it really is that easy! Christ has done the hard work…taking on your sin, my sin and the sins of the entire human race so we might be restored with God, Our Father.

If you’d like to talk or want a New Testament Bible, please let me know.

Have a blessed Resurrection Day and,
if we don’t meet this side of the veil,
I’ll see you in Heaven!

“Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth and the life.
No man, or woman, comes to the Father except by me.”
~ John 14:6 ~

If you’d like a name added to the prayer list, please let me know. Names are kept for one week, unless you give me that name each week. Around the world, people are praying.

I hope you've been blessed this Easter, Sandra. Praise God for his faithfulness that he gave Dave the desire to get right with Him.

my understanding is the verse about demons believe is that they believe He is who He says He is – not that Christ died for redemption of our sins – so it is the belief in Christ as Savior – at least that is how I've been taught

Easter blessings to you! Such a touching post and again I am praising our Lord for the gift of salvation for your Dave. The grace is a present, especially at such a important time.
My own dear one, John, does not yet know our Savior and I pray that he will see his need now, while there is living to be done! Thank you again for your encouragement. It means the world to me.
    Hugs, Noreen

    Becky, Happy Resurrection to you!

Gail, the thief on the cross said, "I believe" and Christ said, "Today you'll be with me in Paradise." We are saved through faith alone but our works glorify Him.

Karen, thank you and will see you in Heaven!

Debbie, that's the Wonderful News; He is risen!

Kelly, and a Happy Easter to you as well; love…in Him.

V, I've got a death grip on that loophole! -smile-

Charlotte, most Wonderful News…He is risen!

What a blessing that your dear husband realized his need for Christ before he died. What a HUGE blessing!

This post got me thinking. I do have a question though: doesn't it say in James that its not enough to just believe? Even the demons believe and shudder or something like that? It appears simple on the surface, but maybe it's not that simple. That particular passage has always bothered me. Anyway, hope you have a very special Easter filled with God's blessings.
