Sabbath Keeping

by Sandra Bennett
Sabbath Keeping· TCF

6 Jan
~ nesting Canada Geese ~
“…My servant commanded you: do not turn from it
to the right hand or to the left,
that you may prosper wherever you go.
This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth,
but you shall meditate in it day and night,
that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it.
For then you will make your way prosperous,
and then you will have good success.
Have I not commanded you?
Be strong and of good courage,
do not be afraid,
nor be dismayed,
for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
~ Joshua 1:7-9 ~
“We should not forget that it will be just as important to our descendants to be prosperous in their time as it is for us to be prosperous in our time.”
~ Theodore Roosevelt ~
“After all, the chief business of the American people is business. They are profoundly concerned with producing, buying, selling, investing and prospering in the world.
I am strongly of the opinion that the great majority of the people
will always find these are moving impulses of our life.
But it is only those who do not understand our people,
who believe that our national life is entirely absorbed by material motives.
We make no concealment of the fact that we want wealth,
but there are many other things we want much more.
We want peace and honor,
and that charity which is so strong an element of all civilization.
The chief idea of the American people is idealism.”
~ Calvin Coolidge ~
“Prosperity suits some people, and they blossom best in a glow of sunshine; others need the shade and are sweeter for a touch of frost.”  ~ Louisa May Alcott, Jo’s Boys, download the free e-book here  ~
“Prosperity is only an instrument to be used
not a deity to be worshiped.”
~ Calvin Coolidge ~
“If you want to prosper, prosper God.”
~ Sherry K. White ~
“When a man becomes a Christian, he becomes industrious, trustworthy and prosperous.
Now, if that man, when he gets all he can, and saves all he can, does not give all he can, I have more hope for Judas Iscariot than for that man!”
~ John Wesley ~
“It is generally, in the season of prosperity, that men discover their real temper, principals and design.”
~ Edmund Burke ~
“From everyone who has been given much,
much will be required.”
~ Luke 12:48 ~

Anne, glad it spoke to your heart; it speaks to mine as well.

Gayle, I know it's autumn…or spring…when the Canada geese come back.

Dewena, we are in total agreement!

    Glenda, and to you.

    Lady Jane, thank you.

Mildred, and to you and John.

Annie, seeing this late so will include your family.

    Nana, all right.

There have been times when I must have needed the frost because I did benefit, grow, from it. That doesn't mean I like it any better when it comes!

I like this post! Lots of good solid wisdom here. I always have prayers to be shared. Kaydence, the tiny baby who was able to go home for the holidays. That she continues to grow strong and Nick that he makes a wise choice in a new college for next year. He is not happy where he is and needs the Lord's wisdom to make the move. Harold that his health continues to improve and Mary that her sight will not be diminished.
I do have a list a mile long. I will make sure to come by and share with you weekly. Thank you for praying. Happy New Year to you and yours! Anne
