Sabbath Keeping

“…there is a future for the man of peace.”
~ Psalm 37:37  ~

“God send that there may be an end at last;
God send that there may be peace again.
God in heaven send us peace.”
~ Diary of Hartich Sherk, a peasant ~

“Peace is not the absence of conflict,
but the ability to cope with it.”
~ anonymous ~

“In the heart’s depths a peace serene and holy
Abides, and when pain seems to have its will,
Or we despair,-oh, may that peace rise slowly,
Stronger than agony, and we be still.”
~ Samuel Johnson ~

“When the power of love overcomes the love of power,
the world will know peace.”
~ Jimi Hendrix ~

“O Lord, calm the waves of this heart; calm its tempests. Calm thyself, O my soul, so that the divine can act in thee. Calm thyself, O my soul, so that God is able to repose in thee, so that his peace may cover thee. Yes, Father in heaven, often have we found that the world cannot give us peace, O but make us feel that thou art able to give peace; let us know the truth of thy promise; that the whole world may not be able to take away thy peace.” ~ Soren Kierkegaard ~

“Peace begins with a smile.”
~ Mother Teresa ~

“My therapist told me the way to achieve true inner peace
is to finish what I start. So far today, I’ve finished
2 bags of M&M’s and a chocolate cake.
I feel better already.”
~ Dave Barry ~

“Peace is always beautiful.” ~ Walt Whitman ~

“The Simple Path
Silence is Prayer
Prayer is Faith
Faith is Love
Love is Service
The fruit of service is Peace”
~ Mother Teresa ~

“Peace is the only battle worth waging.”
~ Albert Camus ~

“If war is ever lawful, the peace is sometimes sinful.”
~ C. S. Lewis ~

“Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace
at all times and in every way.”
~ 2 Thessalonians 3:16 ~

If you’d like a name added to the prayer list, please let me know. Names will be kept a month, unless notified otherwise. Around the world, people are praying.

And Jesus said "be quiet!" to the storm, and a great peace came.

All my thoughts are with you because of the storm, we hear every hour about it in our radio. Stay sheltered, you and you beloved!!!
    LOVE!

As always a wonderful variety of quotes all pointing to the Lord's peace (and good chocolate!) Peace in our hearts will show up in peace around us –

Well, everyone of these quotes are well spoken and surely are what everyone needs to hear at some point in time. And you sure found the one for me for this day…."True inner peace is to finish what I start." I just substituted M&M's and chocolate cake for Fabric and Yarn. Thanks to you and Dave Berry!!!!

I love that Hendrix quote. Hope you are having a blessed Sabbath day! Since reading your posts, I have determined to make Sunday a day devoted to God and rest. It really is great to know that I do not have to do a thing on this day and it is okay! Thank you for prayers for my son, Greg. He certainly needs it. 🙁
