Sabbath Keeping

by Sandra Bennett
Sabbath Keeping· TCF

29 Jul

“Jesus told a parable about a master who gave his servants money and went off to another country (Matthew 25:14-30). On his return he asked the servants what they had done with the money. Some had put it to work to make more money, but one servant simply gave it back to the master saying that he simply kept it safe. The master was angry with that servant. The lesson from the parable is that when you are given a gift, you have to use it. You have to deal with the responsibility and dilemmas of it. You cannot run from it. You cannot hide your light under some bushel of safety and hope that it just goes away. You’ve got to face the consequences of who you are and what your vocation is.”

I can say I have had 75 years of Up&Downs. Infact like a roller coaster. I am still here. I think on the wings of your prayers. Love you Sandra.

It is an every moment responsibility to use this "gift of life" to my best . . . In the ups and the downs . . . daunting at times. Life is a GIFT . . .

    Hello Sandra:
It is quite true that sometimes a gift or a special talent can be as much of a burden as a blessing. But, it is good to be reminded that should one find oneself in an advantageous position or to simply have the good fortune not afforded to others, there is a real obligation to do something worthwhile with it.

We try to count our blessings every day, but, as you know so well yourself, it is not always easy!May all your gifts be blessings!
