Happy Birthday, Beloved

by Sandra Bennett
TCF

7 May
~ Dave, in Romania ~
“The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.”
~ I Corinthians 15:26 ~
“I like to see a man proud of the place in which he lives.
I like to see a man live so his place will be proud of him.”
~ Abraham Lincoln ~
“Life every man holds dear;
but the dear man holds honor
far more precious dear than life.”
 ~ William Shakespeare ~
“The
man who radiates good cheer, who makes life happier wherever he meets
it, is always a man of vision and of faith. He sees the blossoming
flower in the tiny seed, the silver lining to every cloud, and a
beautiful tomorrow in the darkest today.

Good
cheer is something more than faith in the future, it is gratitude for
the past and joy in the present. Life for all of us has its hardships
and disappointments. It is out of such stuff as this that human
character is made. But after all this world is a pretty good place
and we at least owe each other the courtesy of a smiling face and the
inspiration of a cheery word.

To go about
our work with pleasure, to greet others with a word of encouragement,
to be happy in the present and confident in the future, this is to
have achieved some measure of success in living.”
~ Edwin
Osgood Grover
, The Book Of Good Cheer, 1913 ~

“If you live to be one hundred,
I want to live to be one hundred minus one day
so I never have to live without you.”
~ A. A. Milne ~
“Surely God would not have created such a being as man,
with an ability to grasp the infinite, to exist only for a day!
No, no, man was made for immortality.”
~ Abraham Lincoln ~
“I
almost wish we were butterflies and liv’d but three summer days –
three such days with you I could fill with more delight
than fifty
common years could ever contain.”
~ John Keats ~

Sandra- you are blessed to have great memories- although I understand that seems like little consolation sometimes. This is a wonderful picture– Dave seemed to be a person with a great zest for life.
    Love you-

Nice to remember our loved ones, especially when they're on the other side. I'm sure he's smiling back at you. Just close your eyes. You can see him, can't you.

A beautiful tribute. I'm sure today will be tearful, but hope you can give honor to the fun times you had together. So very thankful Dave accepted Christ, that has to be a huge comfort to you. A certain positive to counter the negative!

    Love you, Becky
