Sabbath Keeping

“So then, faith comes by hearing
and hearing by the word of God.”
~ Romans 10:17 ~

“Faith is reason grown courageous.” ~ Sherwood Eddy ~

“A man of courage is also a man of faith.” ~ Cicero ~

“Faith is believing
when it is beyond the power of reason to believe.”
~ Voltaire ~

“You can do very little with faith, but you can do nothing without it.” ~ Samuel Butler ~

“Just because you can’t see it doesn’t mean it isn’t there.
You can’t see the future, yet you know it will come;
you can’t see the air yet you continue to breath.”
~ Claire London ~

“Faith is not belief without proof, but trust without reservation.” ~ D. Elton Trueblood ~

“There’s a point in your life when God will bring someone in, at a very unexpected time, that’ll change everything.” ~ Kristin Martin ~

“I believe,
I believe in the sun even when it is not shining.
I believe in love even when I cannot feel it.
I believe in God even when God is silent.”
~ Anne Frank ~

“Has something bad happened to you and you said, “Oh me. What did I do? I must have done something terrible. Otherwise, this wouldn’t have happened!”
And before you knew it, you fell headlong into a pity party of morbid introspection—taking yourself apart piece by piece to see where you went wrong. If you’re like most people, you have.
But have you ever thought that maybe you’ve done absolutely nothing wrong, but God is simply testing your faith? This is an important truth for you to understand, because if you don’t, you may get discouraged. The seeds of doubt and discouragement sprout in the soil of ignorance.
Read Exodus 16 about the testing of the Lord in the lives of the Israelites while they were wandering in the desert. What applications can you give to your life?” ~ Adrian Rogers ~

“For we walk by faith, not by sight.” ~ 2 Corinthians 5:7 ~

“Faith has to do with things that are not seen
and hope with things that are not at hand.”
~ Thomas Aquinas ~

“Faith is believing in something when common sense tells you not to.”
~ Miracle on 34th St. ~

“Ultimately, blind faith is the only kind.”
~ Mason Cooley ~

“Sometimes the things we can’t change,
end up changing us instead.”
~ unknown ~

“Doubt is a pain too lonely to know that faith is his twin brother.”
~ Khalil Gibran ~

“Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” ~ Hebrews 11:1 ~

I appreciate your quotes! Thank you. I imagine it is beautiful in your part of the world now. The most beautiful Fall foliage that I have ever seen was in West Virginia. We hope to get to ride to the Blue Ridge in a couple of weeks.
    Love,
    Marie

    Great quotes, as usual, Sandra!
Yep! I've been there (having my faith tested). It took a long time, but I learned that faith is a choice not a feeling!
    Praying for you and Dave.

I liked this post–great quotes about faith. I remember that line from "Miracle on 34th Street" (one of my favorite movies of all time!)

I have Hebrews 11:1 on my keyboard – to remind me constantly – I walk by faith – I don't see it or touch it but everything I see and touch is affected by it! Bless you this week Sandra and Dave – we are blessed by you!

I was going to write the first quote down, then the second, then realized the whole post was so true and appropriate for me. Thank-you Sandra.

Anne Franks' words were most touching.

    Hello Sandra and Dave:
We are reminded here of the prayer:
    Oh, God, I believe.
    Help me in my unbelief.

These quotations concerning Faith do much to strengthen it. Our thoughts and prayers are with you both, as always.
