“Build this day on a foundation of pleasant thoughts. Never fret at any imperfections that you fear may impede your progress. Remind yourself, as often as necessary, that you are a creature of God and have the power to achieve any dream by lifting up your thoughts. You can fly when you decide that you can. Never
consider yourself defeated again. Let the vision in your heart be in your life’s blueprint. Smile!”
~ Og Mandino ~
“Fretting is wicked, if you are a child of God. Have you been bolstering up that stupid soul of yours with the idea that your circumstances are too much for God?” ~ Oswald Chambers ~
“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” ~ Philippians 4:6-7 ~

Hi Sandra, I'm so glad you dropped by. :o) I love the scriptures you shared today and I'm thrilled to see your blog! How wonderful! Funny..we have a very similar approach to blogging. I wanted people to be able to drop by, relax and enjoy the natural beauty of our home. I have to say your location is much more stunning than mine..and your occupation. How I'd love to learn to spin and get ahold of some of that wool. I recently watched some women do that at the Texas Ren. Festival near our home. Fascinating!
I'll be following you too.
Blessings,
Donna

"Go to bed early and get eight hours of sleep at the bare minimum and, if you can, sleep nine hours. Trust me, it will make a huge difference in both your outlook and your energy. Laundry and dishes will wait on you; trust me, I know this to be true."
You are very right about this! I used to think I could "rejuvinate" if I slept in late in the morning, instead of going to bed early–how wrong was I! Nate and I now aim to wake at 7 AM, regardless of the time we go to bed, but I'll tell you… when 10 PM comes rolling around, I'm about falling asleep standing up. So, we wend up going to bed early and waking early, and we both feel so much better every day.
It's especially nice to have 1 or 2 hours in the morning before rushing off to class. Allows me to be calm when I go to class, and I think pay better attention and learn more.
Thank you for this post. You are right in everything. And, I love Celestial Seasonings too! We especially love the sleepy time tea and the peppermint tea. 🙂

Your Sabbath Keepings are a continual blessing to me.
It was a day of great joy and fruition for me today, evidence there is no need to fret.
But then, there's always tomorrow, and alas, I am a creature of habit.
Soon for you and Dave. You and your altered chemo plans are in His hands.
Love,
Dawn

My late, great MIL had a scripture written out on a postit type note and stuck on her bedside lampshade the emphasized part in her very clear handwriting was "Fear Not" – good to remind ourselves – nothing can come against us which the Lord didn't already defeat. Home wishes to you also.

Hi Sandra,
This is my first visit to your beautiful blog. (I'm visiting from Glenda's blog.) The view from your window is breathtaking and I could just sit and stare at it for hours!
Thank you for the lovely admonishments to not allow myself to fret. Truly God is greater than every circumstance we face.

I sent some little surprise awards your way this morning. Check out my blog to read about it.
Since your life is a wee bit crazy right now, don't worry about the requirement of the awards. Only if you have time and it would be fun. But it is my joy to honor you, lovely Sandra.
Fondly,
Glenda

some of my favorite sayings are when the Lord tells me to not, "fret not yourself." I feel like I am in a very fretty mood, is that a word? I suppose anxious would be a better choice. Why is it that when I am like this I can think of so many reasons why I can do things better than God? So what I think was God telling me in all the different ways to not fret myself today.
Thanks for the update on yourself and Dave. Can you see the light at the end of the tunnel yet?
I will continue to pray for you and your soon homecoming. Blessings today, my friend
