~ Live Within Your Harvest, church sign ~

“People who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge men into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.”
~ I Timothy 6:9-10 ~

“Time is more valuable than money. You can get more money, but you cannot get more time.”
~ John Rohn ~

“Make money your god and it will plague you like the devil.” -~ Henry Fielding ~

” But remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth.”
~Deuteronomy 8:18 ~

“What difference does it make how much you have? What you do not have amounts to much more.” – ~ Seneca ~

“For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.” ~ Luke 12:34 ~

“Too many people spend money they haven’t earned, to buy things they don’t want, to impress people they don’t like.”  ~ Will Smith ~

“The art of living easily as to money is to pitch your scale of living one degree below your means.”
~ Sir Henry Taylor ~

Welcome KathyB – Will Smith appears to have his head firmly planted on his shoulders. He promised his grandmother he'd never use foul language but in one of his last films, his language was foul! I suspect his grand has passed away.]

Welcome LindaSue – one of three Chinese curses is "may you live in interesting times"…and we do.

Welcome Deborah – we're in total agreement.

Welcome Chasity – that particular church is in Lebanon, VA; about 35 miles down the road from me.

Welcome Deborah Ann – and we all have the same amount of time, don't we?

Welcome Geek+Nerd – you're welcome and thanks for visiting Thistle Cove Farm. Pulaski is also a beautiful part of the state…but not as beautiful as here -grin-.

Hi Sandra, thanks for visiting my blog! I'm familiar with your neck of the woods. I went to school for awhile in Pulaski county! You live in a beautiful area 🙂 I'd love to visit again, it's been a long time. Cheers!

Great post. Living within our means is a much more peaceful way to live.

It is a time of adjustment for many people – means are certainly less but I hope and pray it leads to more people understanding – relationships – with the Lord and one another are the riches. Good post and it is challenging to live within our means but the Lord provides just in time and the right things.

All the quotes and verses are so true! I do like the quote by Will Smith especially. Personally, I think there is a lot to be said in favor of living within your means simply because it allows for a better night's sleep…
