~ Morning casts a long shadow ~

“Do not be seized with alarm and struck with fear, little flock; for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.” Jesus, Luke 12:32

“It is not because things are difficult that we do not dare; it is because we do not dare that things are difficult.” Seneca

“Do not be afraid to throw yourself on the Lord!
He will not draw back and let you fall!
Put your worries aside and throw yourself on him,
He will welcome you and heal you.”

St. Augustine

“Someone was hurt before you; wronged before you; beaten before you; humiliated before you; raped before you; yet, someone SURVIVED. Maya Angelou

“If you are not living on the edge, you take up too much room.” Native American saying

“To sit quiet and think, is the hardest thing a person can do, for when he does, all the demons of the universe show up and try to keep him from the truth. But these demons must be faced, then slayed, in order to live a life worth living.” R. H. Lascelle

“Do the thing you are afraid to do and the death of fear is certain.” Ralph Waldo Emerson

“Perfect valour consists in doing without witnesses that which we would be capable of doing before everyone.” Francois Duc De La Rouchefoucauld

“For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”
II Timothy 1:7

Until next time,

Blessings ~ God’s spirit ~ quiet time ~ courage ~ love ~ time to ponder ~ Our Father’s good pleasure ~ a place to be alone ~

Awesome quotes! I particularly like the Native American saying, and the quote by R.H. Lascelle (never heard of him before).

What a great way to start my day! Feel a little guilty for 'taking up too much room' today, but my cast won't let me venture too far away from home, alas.

    Blessings dear heart!

Yes, yes, yes, yes! I thank you for this post that reminds me where fear comes from, and what really thinking about it and putting into proper perspective the thoughts about fear can do. I especially appreciate Maya Angelous' words on this topic as it seems when I am most distressed the look back into history and our forbearers attitude toward any kind of suffering offers perspective, and lets me remember we have the ability to overcome any obstacle and hindrance, especially if we call on our God and Savior for wisdom and discernment.

I don't recall who said it – but Courage is fear that has said it's prayers. Yes ma'am and you and I both know what the fear and the praying feel like! To a courageous woman – be blessed this week – we know how the story ends and the good guys DO win.
